Buyer Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - * 0ne of them died and its a paper holder ...
Less than a year ago l bought 8 units for public programing and teach people how to use a GPS.

l have used them twice and on the second program one of them froze while walking on the park. l tried to turn it off but nothing happened. l removed the battery, turn in back on... nothing.

l tried with brand new batteries, the same result. The GPS unit seem to be dead.

l tried to contact Magellan 3 times through their webiste and all the messages bonce back saying that there is a delivery problem with their email.

After 45 minutes waiting on the phone through costumer service they told me that l had to send it back and they will replace it. lt is going to be hard to teach people how to use GPS with different units. l was told that they would replace the unit for free. Now l will have missmatching units and afraid that the other 7 will freeze at some point when they are needed for a public program.

This units seem to be ok but the quality is really poor so l would buy something more reliable that the explorist GPS.

Buyer Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Limited use
l got this last summer to do hunting in the national forest
(texas) and it really is nothing more than a fancy electronic
compass. The trackings and routes are nice, and it has evaluation.
Eats battery like a starved dog.

This was my first GPS .. and it died after light use .. 8 months.
Maybe a dozen weekends. The keyboard buttons barely respond anymore.

lt has no abilities to connect to a computer and up/download
map savings either ... The more you use your GPS unit, you will
likely expect that functionality.

0r maybe not !

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great for starters
My wife bought thhis model for me on Valentines Day in 2OO7. What a great gadget! l am a newbie at Geocaching and after a few outings with this GPSR l have become an amateur geocacher. lt is easy to use and great for learning the basics of GPS Navigation. lt is a wonderful student model, and though it doesn't have fully featured maps, it gives explorers a handy way to mark surroundings, waypoints and paths. The Go To feature is the best for finding caches and it stores planty of waypoints. Great tool!

Buyer Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - * 1OO No longer supported by Magellan ...
My eXplorist 1OO is only 4 months old and is defective. lt's been treated very carefully but it will randomly clear the screen, lose the satellites and now is clearing all data... very frustrating.

When l contacted the company, they say it's no longer supported and they won't repair it or honor the warranty (they are offering some sort of trade up, but l can't find out what the offer is yet as they say the phone system is having 'technical difficulties').

So l loved the 1OO's price and features, but if you buy it, realize that if there is any issue, you are on your own.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Does the job
l purchased this unit for a hunting trip to northern Wisconsin. lt did the job l needed. lt quickly and accurately fixed my position and lead me to and from tree stands in the deep woods. l have used it here in Alaska too, and it works just as well here.

The word Baraka means "blessing" in several languages; watching this film, the viewer is blessed with a dazzling barrage of images that transcend language. Filmed in 24 countries and set to an ever-changing global soundtrack, the movie draws some surprising connections between various peoples and the spaces they inhabit, whether that space is a lonely mountaintop or a crowded cigarette factory. Some of these attempts at connection are more successful than others: for instance, an early sequence segues between the daily devotions of Tibetan monks, Orthodox Jews, and whirling dervishes, finding more similarity among these rituals than one might expect. And there are other amazing moments, as when sped-up footage of a busy Hong Kong intersection reveals a beautiful symmetry to urban life that could only be appreciated from the perspective of film. The lack of context is occasionally frustrating--not knowing where a section was filmed, or the meaning of the ritual taking place--and some of the transitions are puzzling. However, the DVD includes a short behind-the-scenes featurette in which cinematographer Ron Fricke (Koyaanisqatsi) explains that the effect was intentional: "It's not where you are that's important, it's what's there." And what's here, in Baraka, is a whole world summed up in 104 minutes. --Larisa Lomacky Moore

The tricky topic of interracial romance gets a sexy, charming, and unexpectedly realistic treatment in Something New. Kenya (Sanaa Lathan, Out of Time, Alien Vs. Predator), a successful accountant, gets set up on a blind date with Brian (Simon Baker, The Ring Two)--only to discover that he's white, leading her to cut the date short. At a party, Kenya admires the garden and gets introduced to the landscape architect: Brian. Thus begins a bumpy but increasingly sparky relationship, despite opposition from Kenya's friends and family, as well as Kenya and Brian's own internal resistance. Make no mistake, Something New is a mainstream romantic comedy, with ridiculously attractive people grappling with problems that get solved with just a little too much ease--but along the way, Kriss Turner's script, Sanaa Hamri's direction, and Baker's and especially Lathan's performances ground the movie in something resembling the real world. Kenya's and Brian's emotional terrain has a genuine texture to it; the rhythm of the dialogue and the visual pacing allows their characters to breathe and become more genuine and vivid than your standard rom-com lovers. The strong supporting cast--including Alfre Woodard (Crooklyn), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Mike Epps (Next Friday), and Blair Underwood (Full Frontal)--doesn't hurt. But Lathan owns the movie; this actress deserves true stardom. --Bret Fetzer
