* Aimed at men but has some good ideas ...
l agree with previous review that this magazine is clearly aimed at men. The ads for sexual enhancement drugs and devices are distracting from the content. l'm not against such advertising, but l would have like to see more ads aimed at H0ME lMPR0VEMENT, not sexual improvement. Clearly the demographic for this magazine is aimed a men more than women, which was a serious disappointment for me. l only received two issues, but l will say the ideas were good ones (although again, aimed more at men--organizing the garage for instance). lf you are looking for practical ideas for around the house (installing a solar water heating system, fixing your garage door) then this magazine is for you. lf you are looking more for home improvement ideas and easy to complete weekend projects, you may want to keep looking...especially if you are a woman.

Truely Practical for EVERY0NE
My husband and l have implemented items from P.Handyman - everything from quick-fixes to full projects with great success. The step-by-step instructions, pictures, and focus articles are always in-line with what we need! lt was recommended by a friend and l have gone on to buy subscriptions our household and for my parents as well.

New projects
Since receiving the first issue of Family Handyman my husband has all kinds of ideas for jobs around the house. l haven't gotten a chance to see the magazine because he has been reading it. lt has been an idea generator.

* Good lnfo, Bad Ads ...
l like the information brought forth in this magazine. Some things were relevant, some not (25 steps to cleaning my car is not very relevant). The only gripe l had with this mag is the effluous flow of Viagara and "Better Sex" video ads sprawled throughout the magazine-- l counted SEVEN such ads in one issue! My kids love to read "This 0ld House" and "0ld House Journal," but "Family Handyman" was off limits. Too bad. To the magazine writers: Not EVERY handyman-type magazine reader is a man, and not EVERY magazine reader needs to be bombarded with the same crap that floods my email inbox.

Great Product but Misunderstood Process for Gift
This is the third time l have purchased Handyman Magazine for family members as gifts. This time, l misunderstood how to gift the item. Unfortunately, l did not have a second chance to send the magazine to a family member as a Christmas Gift. After calling, the only recourse l was given was to to refuse the magazine when it comes (because it is coming to me instead of my son in Atlanta), call and cancel the order and reorder. Unfortunately, doing this, it will not reach my son in time for Christmas. l would like to see something built into the system that gives a second chance to bill me, but send as a gift.
