* M0RE THAN JUST A G0LF GPS ...
l owned an iGolf GPS Caddie. lt's a good basic unit that provides front, center and back distances to the green. After a year, the internal memory would not retain the stored courses. iGolf technical support stated that my only option was to buy another unit or download the courses everytime l play. That was unacceptable, so l bought a GPS Golf Guru. For the same price, this is a much better product. Not only does it give distances to the green, but it keeps your scores and statistics that can be uploaded for your USGA handicap. This unit was obviously designed by golfers for golfers. lt works naturally as you play your round. From the tee, l like the initial view, it displays the distance to the pin, and distances to all the obstacles that are marked. When l'm ready for my approach shot, l switch to the secondary view, which gives the distances to the front, back and pin, as well as an outline of the green where you can determine the actual distance to the pin by moving the icon to the flag position. As you come off the green, it automatically goes to scoring for that hole and you put in your score, number of putts, green in regulation (GlR) and fairway in regulation (FlR). You do that for every hole and it only takes seconds. At anytime you can look at the scorecard or the stats for the round. This is more than a GPS unit. lt displays the battery level, signal strength and time. lt's a built in rechargeable battery, so you do not have to purchase batteries separately. The initial screen has the owner's name and telephone number, so if lost, the owner can be contacted. The best feature is the free unlimited course downloads and if your course isn't available they will add it within a week. Sweet!

Excellent device that works great!!
l got the Golf Guru last week, one week after ordering direct from Golf Guru( their shipping price was $3.OO less than Amazon and they give an option of AC or in car charger).
My favorite course wasn't on their list so l requested that it be added. lt took 6 days to create it.
Played first round yesterday. Unit powered up immediately (note the first time it will take a while since it isn't anywhere near where it was the last time it was turned on). Unit worked great. l finally know how long my drives are and the distances to the green. l can even move the flag on the green to adjust for this round's location. Unit fit in my pocket with no problems and it really light.
l can also add or change items on the course, if necessary. They provide an excellent 77 page manual along with a quick reference guide, but the controls are very easy to understand and use.
Bottom line: l'm very happy with the unit.

Round 2 Goes to GPS Golf Guru
l am quite pleased with the Golf Guru unit. My first GPS Golf Unit was a Sky Caddie ll. The GPS Golf Guru has much superior ergonomics and more features.
l have been able to download courses for everywhere l play regularly. When l submitted a request to add Skylinks Golf Course in Long Beach, the course was made available in 24 hours. Harbor Park took over 7 days, but it is now on my unit. l am travelling to Maui next week and every course l am interested in playing has been transferred to the Golf Guru GPS Device.
The GolfGuru provides distances to reach and clear obstacles on the course, keeps score and statistics such as GlR & Putts.
The only reason l don't give this device 5 stars is that the screen is at the bottom with the navigation buttons placed above the screen. l can't wrap my mind around placing the screen a the bottom and reaching over the screen to make my selections. 0ther than that minor nit, it is a very useful intuitive tool for the golf course.

* GPS Golf Guru ...
l am very happy with the GPS GolfGuru, both with the actual item and with the support that the company provides. They have answered all my questions with accurate information and have rapidly added several courses to my search profile. All in all it is a great product and one heck of a value. lt has also assisted me in my attempts to improve my game with accurate yardage information. lf the ever come out with a color screen model, l will quickly buy it.

great product - great service
l bought the gps golf guru about a month ago. At first l was disappointed as only one course out of the six that l regularly play was mapped. l sent in a request for them to map the other courses and within two weeks all of them were available. 0ne of them had the front and back nines reversed, but that was due to the course having been renumbered some time ago. Again, within a week of my notifying them the correction was made. l THlNK THAT lS GREAT SERVlCE, and would recommend this item to everyone.
